Mamiboys are a multi-genre Independent Tamil music boy band with members from, Singapore and India. Formed in 2007, by Krisheno, the band is composed of Krisheno (Music Producer, Songwriter and Rapper), Caleb Jacob (Songwriter, Sound Designer and Lead Vocalist), and previously, Kevi-J until his departure from the band in the year 2015.
Mamiboys had worked together with several award winning South-Indian music producers such as Harris Jayaraj, Srikanth Deva and Bobo Shashi for various South Indian Movie Soundtracks.
Rathakrishnan better known by his stage name Krisheno, is a Singaporean/Indian Recording Artist, Music Producer, Songwriter and Entrepreneur. Krisheno is also the founder of Mamiboys and the Co-Founder of Easythingy”.
MEET CALEB JACOB
Bharathi Subramanium better known by his Stage Name, Caleb Jacob is an Indian Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist and Sound Designer. Caleb Jacob joined Mamiboys in the year 2008. Caleb Jacob is the lead singer and songwriter for Mamiboys.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO SOUTH INDIAN MOVIES
Mamiboys made their debut in South Indian Film Music by contributing rap vocals in the song “Seema Siriki” from the South Indian Movie “Thottu Paar“ which was composed by Indian Music Producer, Srikanth Deva and directed by K. V. Nandhu. On the same year, Mamiboys collaborated with South-Indian Music Producer Bobo Shashi to contribute rap vocals for the song titled “Bindaas” from the Telugu Motion Picture “Bindaas” Starring film stars Manoj Manchu and Sheena Shahabadi. In 2010, the group contributed rap vocals to South Indian Music Producer Harris Jayaraj composition which was featured as a background score for the Telugu Motion Picture titled “Orange” starring film stars, Ram Charan and Genelia D Souza.
ONE OF THE MOST MEMORABLE LOVE SONG – REENA I LOVE YOU
Composed by Jude Niranjan and sung by Kevi-J, Mamiboys single titled “Reena I Love You” from the album “Dum Tea” gained popularity among colleges and young teens in Chennai. The song was released worldwide digitally and as a caller-back-tone in India and Malaysia.
Dum Tea is the debut music album of Mamiboys with music scored by Jude Niranjan. Consisting of Seven Tracks, the album launch event took place at AVM Studios on May 13, 2013. The album was also planned to be developed to a full length movie but was then stopped due to the interest of the group. Dum Tea consists of a total of seven songs, Reena I Love You, Tsunami Penne, Natpukulley, Dum Tea, Vidiyatumey, Thurathuthey and Kannadi.

DUM TEA CONTROVERSY
In 2015, Mamiboys accused debutant South Indian director, Thangam Saravanan of having copied their Dum Tea Title song concept as well as visuals from Dum Tea official music video for a song titled “Tea Podu” in his debut movie “Anjala” starring Vimal and Nandita.
However director Thangam Saravanan refused the allegation stating that ‘Tea’ was the only similarity between the two songs and the concept, music, lyrics, choreography and making were entirely different.
PLS ENNAI KADHALI
Pls Ennai Kadhali (Pls love me) is Mamiboys third single and Music Producer San.V’s first single with Mamiboys. Written and sung by Kevi-J, the song was also the first single to feature a female lead (Shruthi) alongside Mamiboys.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO AWARD WINNING SHORT-FILM & ICC WORLD CUP
In 2011, Mamiboys released their first single titled Chalo India for the National India Cricket Team in effort of the Cricket World Cup. The song was later featured as official soundtracks for the Short Film “Roadside Ambanis“. Written and directed by first-timer Kamal Sethu, and produced by Grape Pictures, Roadside Ambanis was awarded as the Best Short Film at the 3rd Norway Tamil Film Festival On 27 April 2012. Oslo, Norway.
Written and rap by Krisheno featuring L.A based female singer, Racquel Roberts, formally from an international touring band based in Chicago, IMAO Entertainer is a Rock-Rap fusion single that draws the listener into the entertainers life through craftily organized lyrics.
Mamiboys Krisheno performed as a transgender in this music video which is more of a metaphor depicting the transcendental role that artists play in society. Artists transcend gender, race, culture and physical appearances.
EMPOWER – THE RAJINI SONG
Composed and written by Krisheno, Empower was more of a tribute for Superstar Rajinikanth Birthday and released on December 2015. Empower has Caleb Jacob on the Hook and Krisheno on the Rap Verses.
KAKAL – TAMIL FIRST TRAP/TWERK ATTEMPT
“KAKAL” is a song recorded by Mamiboys Caleb Jacob and was released on April 01, 2016. The music of KAKAL was produced by Mamiboys Krisheno and written by Caleb Jacob. Kakal was described as being different and fresh with the music being described as addictive.
Having broadcasted in SUN Music and receiving Airplay on BBC Asian Network UK KAKAL received good responses from non-Tamil Speaking audiences from countries such as Russia resulting in listeners adding KAKAL to their YouTube Playlists alongside other International songs.
